CUPS

These cups are made from a stoneware that gives an earthy look and feel when you touch them. It is fired to cone 10 in a gas reduction kiln that I built in my studio. Gas kilns eject a real flame, so I need to sit next to the kiln for 14 hours to adjust the temperature along the way. Playing with fire is pretty much an essential part of the process.
